Discussion on Gender and Democracy in Pakistan
SSA and the Women and Media Collective co-hosted an informal discussion on “Gender and Politics in Pakistan” on the 23rd of May 2013 at SSA. The main discussant was Ms. Nighat Khan, a prominent feminist scholar and activist from Pakistan. She is also the Executive Director of the Applied Socio-Economic Research (ASR) Resource Centre, Lahore, Pakistan. Ms. Khan shared her views on gender and politics in Pakistan, and focused special attention on the recently concluded elections in Pakistan.
The discussion was chaired by Sepali Kottegoda, the Executive Director of the Women and Media Collective.
