It also provides a fresh outlook on the periods of chiefdoms, early state, power sharing state, early medieval state, multiple kingdoms, besieged kingdoms, colonial state and the post-colonial state, from the perspective of the author, challenging the reader to think beyond the mundane understanding of local history.
