First Dialogue Session on Democracy, Citizenship and Justice
The SSA organized a dialogue session with the participation of 35 Sinhala medium students from the Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo on the 3rd and 4th of June . This is the first in a series of five dialogue sessions that aim to promote critical discussion on concepts such as Democracy, Citizenship and Justice among university students in Sri Lanka. .
The resource panel for this first dialogue session included Prof. Jayadeva Uyangoda, Dr. Nirmal Ranjith Dewasiri, Mr. Mahesh Senanayake-, and Dr. Pradeep Peiris. The forthcoming dialogue sessions will involve Tamil medium Arts Faculty students, university students from faculties other than the Arts faculty, as well as a more in-depth session with junior academics in the University system.
