A two-day training of trainers was organized in two language-based phases for teachers of Civic Education in the Galle, Matara, Hambanthota and Ampara Districts. The trainings focused on preparing teachers to conduct one-day workshops for their students on selected themes from the Ordinary Level Civic Education syllabus. The trainings saw the participation of 40 teachers in total.
Workshops for 18 schools across the Southern Province and 20 schools in the Ampara District were conducted subsequently. These one-day program offered students following civic Education as a subject for the Ordinary Level to engage more critically with what they learn in the classroom, as well as creating a platform for teachers to adopt the training they had received through previous workshops and trainings.
