Training programs were conducted for teachers of Civic Education, and addressed key topics in the local Ordinary Level syllabus. The trainings were conducted in two phases based on medium of instruction. The first two-day program was held in Galle, and saw the participation of 120 teachers from the Galle, Matara and Hambanthota Districts. The second two-day program was conducted in Ampara, with 40 teachers from the District attending. The programs offered in-depth, critical training on concepts found in the Civics Education syllabus, as well as enhancing the pedagogical capacity of the teachers.
