The SSA organized four-day residential workshops in Colombo for students and teachers following Civic Education at the Ordinary Level. The workshops were conducted in three phases, and saw the participation of over 140 students from schools across the Galle, Matara, Hambanthota and Ampara Districts, as well as nearly 50 teachers. The sessions focused on key themes in the G.C.E. Ordinary Level syllabus, namely democracy and human rights, justice, conflict resolution and local government. The workshops offered the opportunity for participants to engage with those of other ethnic and language groups through team-building games and participatory sessions. A multicultural musical evening led by a team of producers from the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation, as well as a tour of the Parliamentary Complex were included as part of the program.
